The iPod Touch: a possible pocket solution?

Julie mentioned the iPhone and iPod Touch in the first meeting. Last month Apple updated the software for both, adding some apps for the Touch which make its functionality much closer to a media-friendly PDA. They have since declared their intention to establish a new "mobile wifi computing platform" based on this technology and are about to launch a software developers kit which will allow 3rd parties to create applications for it (and the iPhone).
The 2 pages I've linked to have some interesting discussions about the use of the iPod Touch as a mobile computing solution for schools. Might be worth a look.

Philip, I can't see you links in this post.....am I missing something?
I agree this is really worth following and evaluating. Kim mentioned today here library "learning hub' have iPods for loan to students so they can listen to digital books and other media.
